ISO 9001: Quality Management System

“Introduced in 1987, ISO 9001 has been revised four times to date, and the new version – ISO 9001:2015 – is the first major revision since 2000. According to www.iso.org, “”all ISO standards are reviewed every five years to establish if a revision is required””.

However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that there’ll be another ISO 9001 update in precisely five years’ time. Five years passed between the introduction of ISO 9001:2008 (the first update of the new millennium) and ISO 9001:2015, and the latter is still in use even now, The generic quality framework, ISO 9001:2015, was designed as a foundation for success with generic business principles and frameworks to allow organizations to create or improve an organization at its most basic roots to ensure efficiency and quality of work.”
